Tour in Fiat 500
The Fiat 500 is a car produced by the Italian FIAT company since 1957 and it was meant to meet the demands of the post-war market which called for economy cars. It was rear-engined on the pattern of the Volkswagen Beetle and, despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle. In 1975 this car went out of production but it is still common to see Romans driving it, the “vintage version” of the modern SMART cars, both solving the great problem of parking in Rome.

Nonostante le ridotte dimensioni riscosse enorme successo, e pur uscendo dalla produzione nel 1975, continua a circolare nelle nostre strade, specie in una città come Roma con i suoi ben noti problemi di traffico e parcheggio!

La Fiat 500 est une voiture produite par la societé FIAT à partir de 1957 pour repondre à l’exigence du marché de l’apres-guerre qui reclamait des voitures economiques. Elle imitait le Volkswagen “Coccinelle” avec son moteur en arrière. Malgré sa petite taille, la Fiat 500 obtint un grand succes. En 1975 la production fut terminé, mais il est absolument commun de voir des Romains conduire une de ces versions rétro de la moderne SMART!
